The problem

Freight is a 24-hour business run by people who keep human hours.

Brokers and small carriers under $25M lose hours and money every week to work that doesn't need a human — but they can't afford the kind of headcount that fills it. So things slip.

8-hour gap, every night

Drivers calling between 6pm and 6am hit voicemail. Pickups slip, drivers cool their heels, and you find out at 7am from an angry shipper.

$3.5K/mo for one offshore VA

Filipino VAs solve the gap on paper. You pay a salary, train them on your TMS, manage timezone overlap, and lose them to a competitor every nine months.

Check calls eat the day

A dispatcher running 30 loads spends 4–6 hours a day dialing drivers, leaving voicemails, and updating notes. That's not where the margin is.

One person, one weak link

Your best dispatcher takes a sick day and the wheels come off. There's no playbook, no audit, no way for anyone else to pick it up cold.

What it does

One platform for both sides of every load.

Indolent Trucking ships as a broker product, a carrier product, or both — your tenant type unlocks the right feature set. No add-ons, no per-seat math.

For brokers

After-hours voice agent

Picks up your toll-free number from 6pm to 6am. Looks up loads by trailer, PRO, or MC. Gives status, captures ETA, opens a callback ticket when it can't resolve.

Five languages, auto-detected

English, Spanish, Punjabi, Portuguese, Russian. Sage picks the language on the first turn — no menu, no IVR. Per-tenant config picks which subset you enable.

Outbound check calls

Calls every active driver 60 minutes before pickup, mid-transit, and 60 minutes before delivery. Logs the conversation, updates the load, texts dispatch on exceptions.

Appointment scheduling

Books pickups and deliveries with conflict detection across the driver's day. Catches double-booked drivers before the load goes out.

Carrier compliance

Checks FMCSA authority, COI dates, and BIPD/cargo limits on every tender. Blocks carriers with expired insurance. Surfaces COIs expiring in 30 days.

For carriers

Email-driven load intake

Reads load offers from your broker partners straight out of Gmail or Outlook. Parses lane, rate, equipment, dates, and queues a quote for your review.

Auto-quote engine

Lane → estimated miles → market rate → fuel surcharge → margin → suggested bid. Reply-by email in one click after a glance.

Document center

Rate cons, BOLs, PODs, scale tickets, lumper receipts — collected, OCR'd, tagged, and linked to the load. Searchable in seconds when a broker asks for proof.

Invoicing & carrier pay

Auto-number invoices, track aging in 30/60/90 buckets, record payments, queue carrier pay with deductions. QuickBooks-ready exports.

For drivers

Driver app (PWA)

Magic-link sign-in, today's loads, one-tap status buttons — pickup_arrived, loaded, en_route, delivered. No app store, no install friction.

GPS breadcrumbs

30-second pings during active loads. Real-time fleet map for the office. Per-load trails so you can prove every mile.

Status reporting

Drivers tell the agent in plain English ("just got loaded on 8821") and the system records the right event. No more typing status into a TMS at the truck stop.

Shipped May 2026

Sage speaks the language your drivers grew up in.

Auto-detected on the first turn. No language picker, no menu — drivers talk, Sage answers in their language. The English version stays the canonical source for tool semantics, so the dispatcher dashboard still reads the same regardless of who called in.

Per-tenant config: choose which subset to support, and the default for callers we can't classify in the first turn.

How it works

Four steps. Three weeks. One bill a month.

No "discovery phase" disguised as an invoice. No 6-month enterprise sales cycle.

  1. 01

Shadow your dispatch for a day

Two-day on-site session. We map your SOPs, your TMS workflow, your top-5 painful moments. Free, no commitment.

  2. 02

    Wire up the after-hours line

Port (or forward) your evening number to our voice agent. Plug into your TMS via our adapter. Live in 7–10 business days.

  3. 03

    Run a 30-day pilot

We watch every call, you watch every transcript. Tune the prompt to your operation. No long-term contract — month-to-month after the pilot.

  4. 04

    Pay what one VA costs

$1,495/month flat for after-hours coverage. Add carrier-side modules à la carte. No per-call fees, no surprise overages.

Proof

The numbers, not the adjectives.

Live data from MCM Transportation — our design-partner brokerage in Glendale, AZ — since the after-hours line went live in May 2026.

Why we built this

A note from the founder.

I run operations at a small structural-steel fab in Phoenix. My friends run brokerages and small carriers. Same story, every time: 25 people doing the work of 40, and the gap is patched with voicemail and a Gmail inbox.

The funded freight-AI startups are chasing $50M brokers and quoting six figures a year. Nobody is building for the operator running a $5M book with three dispatchers and a tight margin. So I'm building it.

We charge what one offshore VA costs, we open every contract month-to-month, and we don't ship anything we wouldn't run on our own loads. If that's the vendor you've been looking for, let's talk.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does the agent identify itself as AI?
Yes. Every call opens with: "Hi, this is Sage, an AI dispatcher with [Broker]. Calls are recorded." Required by FCC rules and our own design principle — no impersonation, ever.
What languages does Sage handle?
English, Spanish, Punjabi, Portuguese, and Russian. Sage auto-detects the caller's language on the first turn — no menu, no language picker. Each tenant chooses which subset to enable and the default for callers we can't classify yet.
What happens when the agent can't answer?
It opens a callback ticket, texts dispatch on critical exceptions (breakdowns, refusals), and posts to the dashboard inbox. A human always closes the loop. We do not pretend to handle 100% of calls.
Is this TCPA-safe?
Every outbound call passes a compliance gate: consent record, DNC list, time-of-day (8am–9pm local), 2-party-consent state detection, and AI disclosure injection. The check is the only path to the dialer — there is no bypass in code.
Do you connect to my TMS?
McLeod PowerBroker, AscendTMS, Tai, and Aljex out of the box. Magnus, Turvo, Alvys, and Rose Rocket on request. We write through with explicit human approval — never auto-confirm bookings.
What about data security?
Single-tenant Postgres row-level isolation per customer. PII at rest is AES-256 encrypted. PII in transit is TLS 1.3. We don't store card data — Stripe owns that. SOC 2 Type I in flight for late 2026.
Can I see the audit log?
Yes. Every action — prompt, tool call, tool result, decision — is append-only logged per load and queryable from the dashboard. Required for FMCSA disputes and TCPA defense.
What's the contract?
30-day pilot at full price (refundable if we don't meet the call-completion bar). After that, month-to-month. No 12-month auto-renew traps.
Will my dispatchers lose their jobs?
We've yet to meet a dispatcher who liked dialing voicemail at 11pm. The agent handles the after-hours and routine check calls; your people do what dispatchers actually went into this for — moving freight and solving problems.

Stop paying people to listen to voicemail at 2 a.m.

20-minute call. We look at one week of your dispatch logs and tell you, plainly, whether we'd save you money. If not, we say so.
